Early Novena Mass
Every December 16 until 24 of December: thier is the early Novena Mass in the catholic relegion church of San Roque. The Novena Mass starts in 3:00 in the morning. When the Novena Mass finish there was offering warm snack to the peoples which you don’t need to pay. And this tradition you can see only to our Barrio San Roque. Because people believed that more you give more you get. The tradition starting since when I’m small child, and I was remember when I was child we live in kan-isjan when the bell in the church start to ring around 3:00 in the morning we weak up even we still want to sleep coz for me that”s for fun, And we need to prepared plastic sack to put our bring house, like biko, bodbod suman, puto maya, pan, ramona etc. so our parent and sister can’t eat also even they are not attending the early novena mass. My unforgettable of the early novena mass, was the time when the schedule to offered the free food was in the site of Maam Sining Rodas, I was not able to get it the painitay coz my one fear of sleeper was falling down kay nasapiti man ko sa buslot sa latayan, and my sister Edel is not able to get my sleeper coz there is the high tide and when we arrived in tabok thier is nomore food, people start to clean up the table "in the morning when I was going to the school Maam Biday Manlunas asking me why I don’t have sleeper? I have said that my sleeper there is no more partners because nahagbong man sa tulay kay namainit man ko og natunong man pod sa buslot og ang akong nanay dili naman mo palit kay bag-o paman gipalitan og sinilas. In every early novena mass, I was able to attend maskin ang painitay adto sa ibabaw sa balay nila Tiyo Tinong Catigan except sa kang Maam Sining Rodas. Since when am grade one until grade six I was able to attend the painitay. Now I have miss the painitay coz i was old already and no were in the Philippine have this kind of traditions’ except in our barrio san roque, and I was proud to tilling this story in other people especially in the Swiss people because they don’t believed that Barrio San Roque have kind of traditions. Now the tradition of painitay still thier but nomore like before ,Because our parish priest change the sytem. The painitay held in the ground of the church coz people must obligated to attend the mass.This is the Story about painitay in our Barrio San Roque!!!
